the giving keys.

Yesterday, the most special and thoughtful gift arrived on my doorstep.

Have you all heard of The Giving Keys? I hadn't until this gorgeous key arrived inscribed with the word FAITH. My sweet friend, Nikki, received keys from her husband for Valentine's Day and paid it forward by sending this one to me to remind me to have FAITH that S will be home in JUNE.

The idea is to then give the key away to someone else who needs this message after S is home. What an awesome, awesome way to bless someone!

From The Giving Keys website:

The Giving Keys exists to employ those transitioning out of homelessness to engrave recycled keys that get sold and shared around the world. Each key necklace is unique and carries a message like HOPE, STRENGTH, DREAM or COURAGE. When the wearer of the key encounters someone else who needs the message on the key, they give it away and then tell us their story.

When I'm not wearing my key, I'm hanging on the bookshelf in the family room where we spend 99% of our time. Right there in a very important spot - between the adorable pic of the boys as infants {yes, Nathan is screaming bloody murder - it's the cutest photo} and the broken frame {I have twin boys - everything in our house is broken} displaying one of my all-time favorite photos of both sets of parents from our trip to Italy a few years ago together. I will see this key every single day many, many times. And, I am going to be blessed by the message and the heart behind the gift each time I glance it's way.

Thank you, Nikki, for lifting me up so many times on this journey. Your friendship is such a gift and a treasure. XO!
