baby goats.

Let's be clear, I called myself The Farmer's Wife on the boy's barnyard birthday party invites last year, however, I am far from an actual farmer's wife.

I did, however, find the barnyard animals at our little petting zoo absolutely adorable. Cute enough that I actually considered allowing Dave to bring some goats to live on our land outside of town. His argument seemed reasonable: the goats would keep the grass and weeds under control by eating everything in sight. And, he wanted to get a few fainting goats. That's just funny, I don't care who you are.

So, I agreed to consider it.

And, little baby goats are adorable. Which is why the boys and I jumped at the chance to go visit real, live itty-bitty baby goats last week. One of Dave's sub-contractors has a {for-real} farmer wife who takes care of all kinds of farm animals and she invited us all out to pet the goats.

Free petting zoo? Sign me up.

It was fun. The boys chased the goats all around the field. They held baby goats. And, we stepped in a ridiculous amount of goat poo. Which is why the goats-at-the-barn idea has flown out the window. I have learned first-hand that I don't have what it takes to care for anything other than a domesticated animal. The end.

Still, we made memories and I got some fun photos. Turns out, goats that belong to someone else are the best kind of goats in my book.

Seriously...are these pictures not the cutest and most hilarious?!?

This is photographic evidence that Dave's beard was out.of.control. You didn't even notice the goat in the photo, did you? Just the beard.

The beard appeared to attract the goats.
Although, I'm behind the camera and you can't see it, trust me that I had the same facial expression as Ben when the goats came up to me.
A goat is attacking my child and I just take a picture. {Just kidding, it wasn't attacking...just sniffing}.
Do goats like to play chase? The boys tried to find out.
And I quote, {Ben}: "God made that sky!" {Nate}: "He painted it with a big paintbrush!"
Yes, boys. Yes, he did. What a beautiful gift.

Babies!!

Pretty awesome way to spend an afternoon for a couple of boys, don't you think?

Now, we are about to go out and play in the snow and then go ride in a firetruck!! Daddy has a fireman that also works for him and offered to give us a ride. Lucky, lucky boys :-).

Have a great day, everyone!
