A-hem.
A bridal shower. For. My baby sister.
I guess that means that I am officially an adult. I can't fight it anymore...I just have to embrace my new role as Matron of Honor.
Oh my. I do NOT like that word - Matron. Ewww... it just is not flattering or any type of adjective I want attached to my name.
But, here I am. A Matron of Honor. So, I am just going to embrace it. And, first things first, it's time to throw a bridal shower!
I am absolutely THRILLED to be sharing these images of this past Saturday's shower. Not because it was a perfect, adorable and fun shower (even though it sooo was), but because I am just so, so ecstatic for Lori. She is illuminating happiness and excitement. She is marrying her best friend and they are an adorable and precious couple.
Lori has gone through some really hard times in her life. Really hard. Even if she won't admit it. Even if she is humble and doesn't even recognize how strong she is. I won't get into her story, because it is hers to share, but I will tell you that she is resilient, kind, and beautiful. She is full of hope, joy and love. She carries a light within her and shares it generously with every single person she comes into contact with. I am so proud of her and am so, so thankful that God has blessed me as her big sister.
And, for that reason, I am honored to stand beside her on one of the most important days in her life. As she says, "I Do" to her love. (I will even smile when I say the words "Matron of Honor." Or, I will try. I promise to try).
Now, without further ado, here are the details of my baby sister's bridal shower!

Remember my new, fun stamps and rub-on letters? I was excited to use them again!

I love striped paper straws! I found these at IsaKay Boutique on Etsy.

Adorable food table

Dessert bar complete with cupcakes, cake pops and mini cheesecakes (thanks, Dad!)! Kristen (bridesmaid) did a great job creating the table!

Check out that loot! She got some great stuff :-)
If you didn't guess already, Lori's wedding colors are grey and yellow. Isn't that the CUTEST color combination? I love every single detail from this shower and I LOVE that this room was full of friends and family that love Lori and are as thrilled for her and Ryan as I am! It was a really perfect day!
Just a few more details to share... I have to show a few images of the banner that hung above the food table. I made it and thought that Lori and Ryan could use it again on their wedding day for photos.
I know. I know. My uncharacteristically craftiness is just crazy!
*Truth: the lady at the craft store talked me into making this instead of just buying one. She was a good salesperson. And, yes, I spent more on the supplies to make it than I would have if I had just bought one. But, it was made with love.

I even added a little distressed paper to the clothespins. No, that is not a joke. The lady at the craft store talked me into that one too. And, she helped. A lot. I had no idea what I was doing.
The shower favors were SUPER easy to make! I filled small mason jars with a homemade Citrus Body Scrub. Click here for the recipe.
Easy, right?!
I spray painted the lids of the jars with chalkboard paint and wrote on the lids with a chalkboard marker. Super cute and super easy!
Do me a favor and just act surprised if you receive a jar of body scrub as a gift from me. I love this idea!
